Socotra is a group of four islands off the horn of Africa which have been geographically isolated for over 6 million years. This has allowed some seriously crazy looking flora and fauna to develop, over 200 of which are found nowhere else on earth. This alien looking chap is the Dragon’s Blood Tree, or dracena cinnibaris. You can see lots more photos of these unique islands over at Dark Roasted Blend.
