Marc Bolan, September 16, 1977
This image is from an exhibition of photographs by Dean Rogers that show the places where nine of our cultural heroes were killed in car crashes.
The show opens this weekend at the Wapping Project in London.
Rogers took the images on the anniversary of the deaths, at the exact time of day they occurred, and in the precise position the car was before impact.
Bonus trivia fact - the Mini Marc Bolan died in was driven by his then girlfriend Gloria Jones who originally recorded Tainted Love, later a hit for Soft Cell. If you’ve never heard her version, check it out - it’s fantastic.
