Google Earth on the iPhone is genius

If you’ve got an iPhone or iPod Touch you can get it now for free from the App Store. It’s a little jerkier than the desktop version as it’s clearly pushing the poor little iPhone to it’s limit, but the implications of having a 3d model of the entire earth in your pocket are mind boggling. Already you can see Wikipedia entries for places as you zoom past - as more pieces of the geographic web are filled in this is going to be nuts. All that stuff on the telly in the 80s is finally coming true - we’re in the future man!
